Dear Student,
Mostly two hormones are responsible for the maintanence of the blood Glucose level- Insulin and Glucagon.
Both insulin and glucagon act antagonistic to each other to maintain optimum blood sugar levels. While insulin acts on blood cells in the liver and muscles and signals the conversion of sugar into glycogen and get stored in the liver, glucagon acts on liver cells in particular and signals conversion of glycogen into sugar to be released into the blood.
Regards.
