International Development Association

The International Development Association (IDA) is a multinational financial institution providing aid to poor countries in the form of loans. It is also referred to as soft loan window of the World Bank. The main purpose of the IDA is to provide grants and concessional loans to the world’s poorest countries. It grants to developing countries with the most economical Gross National Income (GNI), having troubled creditworthiness, & having very low per capita income. The IDA attempts to complement the work done by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
