The correct option is C Potassium - Closing of stomata
Potassium is essential mineral element. It is one of the macronutrients. It is responsible for the closing of stomata. Potassium ions (K+) increases the osmotic concentration of guard cells around stomata. If there is loss of K+ ions, then osmotic concentration of guard cells decreases as compared to adjacent epidermal cells. It causes exosomosis and hence turgidity of guard cells decreases which results into the closing of stomata.
