Which is enzyme which helps fire flies glowing at night?

Open in App
Solution

Bioluminescence.

They have glowing butt which is filled with chemicals, which are activated by some enzymes.

In fireflies the chemical is Luciferin and the enzyme is Luciferase. The enzyme catalyses the oxidation of Luciferin.

There are bioluminescent planktons too.

And they look beautiful in the night sky.
