Solution
The particles are emitted from unstable nuclei to become stable, and the process is called the radioactive process.
The radioactive particles are generally emitted from the particular nucleus.
Nucleus emits alpha, beta, and gamma particles.
When such particles are emitted from the nucleus some amount of energy is also released during radiation.
The decay rate will not depend on the temperature and pressure.
Nuclear fusion:
Nuclear fusion is defined as two or more atoms combined together to form larger atoms
.
The amount of energy released during nuclear fusion is much higher compared with nuclear fission.
Therefore, to combine the molecules a large amount of energy is needed to form larger atoms.
It can be used in many power plants.
Nuclear fission
: Nuclear fission is defined as the process of the separation of two larger atoms into two smaller atoms.
The amount of energy released during nuclear fission is much less compared with nuclear fusion.
Therefore, to combine the molecules small amount of energy is needed to split the atoms.
It can be used in nuclear power plants and produces substances that are highly radioactive in nature.
Therefore, fusion is more powerful than fission.
