Solution

The correct option is D Nucellus
Anther wall comprises four layers - Epidermis, Endothecium, Middle layers and Tapetum. The epidermis is followed by a single layer of endothecium, 2-3 middle layers and a single layer of Tapetum. Tapetum is the innermost layer of the anther wall which completely surrounds the sporogenous tissue.
Nucellus is the central part of the ovule in which the embryo sac is present. It makes up the majority of the ovule. Hence, nucellus is not part of anther wall.
So, the correct answer is D.
