Solution

The correct option is C

Transmitting or receiving TV signals

  1. The Sun-Synchronous Orbit or SSO is a polar orbit around earth.
  2. It is synchronous to the sun which means that it is at a fixed position with respect to the sun.
  3. It means the satellite always passes over a particular area on the earth at approximately the same local time.
  4. This arrangement enables the satellite to take pictures with almost the same intensity of light.
  5. Applications: Remote sensing and Groundwater Surveys, spying work for military purposes, and forest cover surveys.
  6. For transmitting or receiving TV signals satellites are parked in geostationary orbit which is at an altitude of 35,800km above the equator.

Hence option C is the right answer.
