Solution
The correct option is D Resistant to O2 concentration Rhizobium is a nitrogen-fixing bacteria present in legume root nodules. The nodule contains all the necessary biochemical components-enzymes nitrogenase and leghaemoglobin. The enzyme nitrogenase is a Mo-Fe protein and catalyses the conversion of atmospheric nitrogen (N2) to ammonia (NH3). It is highly sensitive to the molecular oxygen (requires anaerobic condition). It has an oxygen-scavenger leg-haemoglobin in the nodules for its protection from oxygen.
