  • Stamen is the male reproductive organ which has two parts, the long and slender stalk called the filament and a terminal bilobed structure called the anther.
  • Young anther has a homogeneous mass of cells called the sporogenous tissue which differentiate to form Microspore mother cells (MMC).
  • MMC then forms Microspores by the meiotic division which eventually form the pollen grains.
