Which is the ascending order of magnitude, for different kinds of friction?
Rolling, sliding, static
Static friction has the highest magnitude. To move a body from rest, a lot of bonds between surfaces has to be broken than while it is moving. Sliding friction is more than rolling but less than static. When one body rolls upon another, the area of contact is minimum and hence, very less interlocking. So, rolling friction has the least value among the three.
Thus, the correct order is Rolling < Sliding < Static
