Which is the first genetic material? Give reasons in support of your answer.

RNA is considered as the first genetic material because all the important life processes revolve around RNA like metabolism, protein formation and genetic material storage. They also act as the enzyme in some of the important reaction making it the first genetic material.

RNA is single-stranded and is unstable that is why it is not used as genetic material in eukaryotes and DNA evolve from RNA for this purpose.
