  1. It is also known as the C3 cycle. since it is a three-carbon molecule.
  2. It occurs in the chloroplast of the plant cell.
  3. The Calvin pathway, often known as the carbon dioxide fixation cycle, is found in all photosynthetic plants.
  4. A brief intermediate chemical is formed when carbon dioxide reacts with ribulose 1,5 bisphosphates.
  5. In the presence of water, the intermediate chemical breaks up into two molecules of 3-phosphoglycerate or PGA.
  6. 3-PGA is the first stable product of the Calvin cycle.
