Which is the following hormones use calcium pathway for their action?
CCK
Hormones which can not enter cells(water-soluble) directly induce production of secondary messengers inside the cell for carrying out desired effect. Two such pathways exists one is cAMP pathway and other is calcium or phosphatidylinositol pathway. Hormones ACTH, FSH, LH, PTH, glucagon, and calcitonin, all utilize the cAMP pathway, while CCK, TRH, GnRH, and gastrin utilize the phosphatidylinositol/calcium pathway.
