Solution
Acetyl CoA is the key intermediate compound linking to glycolysis to kreb's cycle.
It is carried out by linking reaction which is also called as Pyurvate decarboxylation , forming the important link between glycolysis and kreb's cycle. In link reaction pyurvate is decarboxylated and CoA is added to form Acetyl CoA, which is necessary for kreb's cycle. Hence the link reaction is necessary for tthe production of Acetyl CoA.
