The neurons or nerve cells are the electrical cells that communicate with other cells in the body through special connections and synapses. They are the largest cell in the body.
The neuron is a microscopic structure consisting of three main parts, namely the cell body, dendrites, and axon.
Multipolar neuron:
They are the most common type of neurons in the brain and spinal cord.
They form autonomic ganglia.
Despite having just one axon, they have several symmetrically emitting dendrites. While some neurons have a large number of axons, others have none at all.
Example- Purkinje cell that form the intermediate layer of the cerebellar cortex with apical tree-like dendritic branches.
