Question

Which languages does python owe its origin to

Open in App
Solution

Guido van Rossum of Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI) in the Netherlands created Python in the late 1980s as a replacement to the ABC programming language, which was influenced by SETL and was capable of managing exceptions and interacting with the Amoeba operating system. It went into effect in December 1989.

A Java implementation of Python is being developed, allowing Python code to be called from Java and vice versa. To support Python’s dynamic semantics, source code is transformed to Java bytecode with the help of a run-time library in this implementation.
