Solution

Cyprinus carpio fish from the Edulabad water reservoir is a cheap and high protein food used by humans. Industrial and agricultural effluents polluted the Edulabad water reservoir. Heavy metals like Lead (Pb), Cadmium (Cd), Chromium (Cr), Manganese (Mn), Nickel (Ni) and Iron (Fe) polluted the reservoir. Cadmium (Cd), Chromium(Cr), Iron (Fe), Nickel (Ni) metals got accumulated in fish tissues. High accumulation of Cd was found in the liver, gill and kidney. The fish became sensitive even with the lower concentration of these metals. Such bioaccumulation of metals leads to biomagnification.
