  1. Muscles are the soft contractile tissues that are made up of stretchy fibres in the body that are used to create motion.
  2. There are three muscles present in the thighs. They are:

i) Quadriceps muscles:

  1. They are muscles located at the front of the thigh.
  2. Rectus femoris, vastus lateralis, vastus medialis, and vastus intermedius are the four primary quadriceps muscles.

ii) Adductor muscles:

Adductor longus, adductor brevis, and pectineus are the muscles that make up the adductor group, which extend from the pubic bone to the mid-thigh.

iii) Hamstrings:

  1. Hamstrings are a group of muscles used for jumping, running, walking, and a number of other activities.
  2. They span the hip and knee joints.
