  1. Sound intensity is defined as the power carried by sound waves per unit area in a direction perpendicular to that area.
  2. Pitch is the characteristic of sound by which an acute note can be distinguished from a grave or a flat note.

Step 2: Explanation :

  1. The man's voice falls under low frequency, whereas a woman's voice is of high frequency.
  2. Pitch and frequency are proportional to each other.
  3. From the diagram, the female's voice has more frequency components marked as 'b' compared to men which is marked as 'a'.
  4. Women speak at one octave higher than men, hence, the wave 'a' represents a male voice.

Hence, the graph (a) represents the male voice.
