Which of the acids dilute sulphuric, concentrated sulphuric, dilute nitric and concentrated nitric would you choose for the preparation of hydrogen? Explain why you would not use the acids you reject.

Hydrogen can be made by the reaction of any active metal like Mg or Zn with a strong acid such as hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acids. Nitric acid does not form hydrogen with metal instead nasty brown fumes of nitrogen dioxide is formed.
