It can be caused when eyeball gets longer or elongated
Myopia means shortsightedness. The person suffering from myopia can see nearby things clearly but the distant objects appears blurry. This is generally caused by two factors:
i. increase in the size of the eye-ball
ii. defect in the eyelens.
In both cases, the image is formed in front of the retina, instead of forming on the retina.
