The adavntages of disease resistant plants are - they give a high yield when compared to other plants. Since they are innately resistant to disease we do not have to use agrochemicals to prevent diseases. And thus the products are free of chemicals. There are also a few disadvantages - If the plant is resistant to a particular strain of organism then a new strain may develop to attack the plant and so continous research needs to occur to keep the plant free of disease. And the other one is that the plant variety developed might be resistant to just one diasease and might be susceptible to another equally disastarous disease.
