An arithmetic progression is a sequence of numbers in which each term differs from the preceding term by a constant quantity called the common difference.

In the sequences 2,3,4,5…., 9,8,7,6..., and 0,0,0,0...., the differences between any two consecutive terms of the AP equal 1, -1 and 0 respectively.
Thus, these sequences are arithmetic progressions as well.

In the sequence 0, 1, 4, 9..., the differences between consecutive terms are 1-0, 4-1, 9-4 and so on. Since the differences are unequal, 0,1,4,9.... is not an AP.
