The correct option is E Spliceosomes, translation
Signal sequence and Consensus sequence are methods of DNA sequence deciphering, an essential aspect of biological research. Signal sequence or signal peptide is a short peptide present in the majority of newly synthesized proteins that are meant for secretory pathway. This includes all those proteins that reside either inside endoplasmic reticulum, golgi apparatus and endosomes or are secreted from the cell. A signal sequence is strongly responsible for determining the efficiency of protein secretion.
The consensus sequence is the calculated order of most frequent residues, either nucleotides or amino acids that are found in a sequence alignment.
The consensus sequence is thus a model for a putative DNA binding site which is obtained by aligning the known examples of certain sites and considering this as the idealized sequence. Splice sites where splicing or editing of the pre-mRNA is catalyzed by Spliceosomes are also considered as consensus sequences.
