The Bhairodev Dakav ‘Sonchuri’ in Alwar district of Rajasthan is a movement started by people from five villages. They have declared 1,200 hectares of forest as a protected area based on some rules and regulations set by them. Many communities are also looking to revive traditional conservation methods and develop new methods of ecological farming, such as the Beej Bachao Andolan and the Navdanya.
