Art 377 deals with Criminalization of homosexuality. Sec 66A of IT Act provides punishment for sending offensive messages through communication services. It was struck down by Supreme court in Shreya Singhal versus Union of India case.

JNUSU President Kanhaiya Kumar was arrested and charged with sedition under sec 124 for ‘anti-national’ protest held by students in the JNU campus. As per the Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court, a person can be charged with sedition only if there is incitement to violence in his speech or writing or an intention to create disorder.
