Thermoacidophiles are prokaryotic microorganisms belonging to the domain archaebacteria. They are known to grow in harsh habitats like hot springs with high temperature (≥ 60˚C) and low pH( ≤4 ) environment. As they thrive in high thermal and acidic conditions, therefore are called thermoacidophiles.

Halophiles are archaebacteria that live in environments with high salinity i.e. high salt concentration.

The archaebacteria methanogens occur in marshy environments. Cyanobacteria belong to eubacteria which occur in terrestrial and aquatic conditions.
