Solution

Definition:

  1. An expression of the form a0xn+a1xn-1+a2xn-2+...+an where a0,a1,a2,...,an are real numbers and n is a whole number, is called a polynomial.
  2. The highest power of the variable in a polynomial is called its degree.

7x4-x+2x-13=7x4-x12+2x-13

Given expression 7x4-x+2x-13is not in the form of a0xn+a1xn-1+a2xn-2+...+an where a0,a1,a2,...,an are real numbers and n is a whole number.

Here, exponent of x is 12 which is not an integer.

Thus, it is not a polynomial.
