(1) The transport of geothermal energy is not easily possible and its very difficult.
(2) Geothermal energy is not quite eco-friendly. There is a considerable amount of land degradation that occurs during the setting up of this power plants. So that it will create a long lasting implications on the land nearby.
(3) There aren't many places on earth that are capable of supporting geothermal power plants. So the locations for setting up the plants is limited.
However the process behind extracting geothermal energy is quite expensive and very difficult to setup. Since most of the times we need dig really deep to get the most out of it.
