Which of the following blood transfusion result in blood clumping?
The correct option is C.
Antigen-antibody reaction.
A person with some blood group can donate blood to the same blood group. Additionally, People with O blood group can donate to any other blood group. Also, people having AB blood group can receive from every blood group. If these are not followed and two different types of blood are mixed together, it causes blood clumping or agglutination of blood. When two different blood groups are combined the antigen present in the donor blood binds with the antibodies of the recipient blood and results in agglutination of blood. Hence these clumped blood blocks the blood vessels and thus prevents blood circulation. Also, the immune response caused by the antibodies may have an adverse effect which results in the rupture of erythrocytes which may be fatal for the patient.
