For a body to experience any change in its shape, size, state of motion and direction, application of force is necessary. Here it is given that the body is very rigid, so it will not experience any change in its shape.
Forces of 10 N each is being applied from the East and West direction respectively. These two forces will cancel each other and the net force in this line will be zero.
Similarly, the forces of 12 N being applied in the North and the South direction respectively will cancel each other. Thus, the resultant force in this line will also be zero.
The net force on the body comes out to be zero.
It is given that the body is at rest. Since, the net force acting on it is zero, the body will remain at rest.
