For 27A49 to be divisible by 3, the sum of the digits of 27A49 must be divisible by 3.

$∴$ 2 + 7 + A + 4 + 9 = 22 + A must be divisible by 3.

The numbers from the given options which will satisfy the above condition are 2, 5 and also 8.

These options will make the sum = 24, 27, 30 respectively, all of which are divisible by 3.

However if we add 9 to 22, we will get 31 which is not a multiple of 3, hence 9 is not the correct option.
