Which of the following can be used as an alternative for fossil fuel in automobiles?
Compressed natural gas (CNG) (methane stored under high pressure) can be used in place of gasoline (petrol), diesel or other fossil fuels. CNG combustion produces fewer undesirable gases than the fuels mentioned above. CNG burns most efficiently unlike petrol or diesel in automobiles, and very little of it is left unburnt. Moreover, CNG is cheaper than petrol or diesel.
