Which of the following can be used to separate a mixture of kerosene and water?
A separating funnel is used to separate the mixture of two immiscible liquids. Immiscible liquids are those which do not mix with each other and form distinct layers.
During the process of separation, the mixture of kerosene and water is allowed to standstill in a separating funnel. Kerosene being lighter compared to water, floats on it.
The water is then drained out from the bottom of separating funnel and kerosene remains inside it.
