The xylem and the phloem make up the vascular tissue of plants and transports water, sugars and other . Xylem cells are dead elongated and hollow. Phloem mainly consists of living cells like Sieve cells/sieve tubes , companion cells and Phloem parenchyma. Only phloem sclerenchyma are dead cells . Both these tissue serves important role in life of a plant.
