Solution

The correct option is C Cell A will be plasmolysed and cell B will be crenated
When a cell is kept under hypertonic solution (more solute, less solvent), then loss of water occurs from the cell and there is shrinkage or contraction of the protoplasm. This process is known as plasmolysis and cell is called as plasmolysed cell.
In cell A, the cell will be plasmolysed but the shape of the cell is retained due to presence of cell wall. But in cell ‘B’, there is no cell wall, thus the membrane will get shrinked and the cell will be crenated (wrinkled appearance).
