Animals, which excrete urea, are called ureotelic. Ureotelic animals include amphibians such as frogs and toads, aquatic or semi-aquatic reptiles like turtles and alligators and most mammals. Urea is less toxic and less soluble in water than ammonia. Hence it can stay for sometime in the body. It was but natural for frogs to adapt that feature and consequently all of us.
