CuSO4.5H2Odehydration−−−−−−−−CuSO4+5H2O
It we increase the temp, autometically the above decomposition fastens.
if humidity is present in the air, CuSO4 due to it's deliquesent nature absorbs H2O to form CuSO4.5H2O. So, low humidity is to be maintained high temperature, low humidity in air favourable dihydroxylation of alkenes with cold, dilute KMnO4 to give vicinal doils.
