There are three criteria for a party to be recognised as a state party:
1. 6% vote share in the last assembly election in that state.
2.One seat in Lok Sabha from the concerned state, plus a 6% vote share in the last Lok Sabha election from that state.
3.If it fails to get either of the numbers, it has to have 3% of the total assembly seats or 3 seats.
