In case of a Carnot refrigerator, the working substance absorbs the work and then extracts heat (Q2) from sink (lower temperature body) along with rejection of heat (Q1) to the source (heat reservoir at at higher temperature).

Since,the second law of thermodynamics states that heat can not be transferred from a colder body (sink) to a hotter body (source) without the work done by an external agent on the working substance.
Option (b) is correct.
