  1. Optical center- The optical center of a lens is a point on the axis of the lens that is situated in such a way that any ray of light traveling through it suffers no net deviation and can be found within, without, or on either surface of the lens.
  2. Because the curvature of the lens at the incident and departure points are completely opposite, the ray passing through the optical center does not deviate because the deviation at the first point is neutralized at the other.
