Yellow fever is caused by the yellow fever virus (RNA virus belonging to family-Flaviviridae) and is transmitted through the bite of female yellow fever mosquito (Aedes aegypti) or Tiger mosquito (Aedes albopictus). Fever, chills, loss of appetite, nausea, muscle pains and headaches are some common symptoms. The infection starts by replicating in the lymph nodes and affects dendritic cells. It also affects the kuffer cells of the liver and leads to eosinophilic degradation of the cells and release cytokines.
