Which of the following examples can be explained using Newton's first law of motion
People in moving bus tend to fall forward if brakes are applied suddenly.
When a car takes a sudden turn to the left, objects in it tend to fall outwards.
Law of inertia states that, unless acted upon by an external force, an object at rest remains at rest, or if in motion, it continues to move in a straight line with constant speed. If a body is traveling with certain speed every particle of that body has the same speed. Example: In a moving bus everything on the bus has the same velocity. When the driver applies sudden brakes, passengers try to move with the same velocity unless acted upon by other forces. When the car takes left turn, the objects inside move to the right because of inertia.
