There are various factor which affects the rate of the reaction. One such factor is the nature of reactants and products. This can affect the rate in three ways,
(i) Physical state of reaction:
Gaseous state reactant has more rate order than the liquid and solid state reactants.
Rate order,
Gaseous state > Liquid state > Solid state

(ii) Physical size of reactants:
Decreasing the particle size the rate of the reaction will increase because it will have large surface area to react.

(iii) Chemical nature of reactants:
If more bonds are to be broken in a reaction, then the rate of the reaction will be slow. Also if the bonds are of high energy then it will take time to break the bond. Hence, the rate of reaction will be slow.
