Solution

The correct options are
C f(x)=cosx+2x
D f(x)=x|x|
f(x)=x6/7f(x)=67x1/7
f′′(x)=67(17)x8/7
Here, f′′(x) does not change sign. Hence, it has no point of inflection.

For f(x)=x6,f′′(x)=30x4 but f′′(x) does not change sign in the neighbourhood of x=0
f(x)=cosx+2x
or f′′(x)=cosx
or f′′(0)=0 for x=(2n+1)π2,nZ
Also, f′′(x) changes sign in the neighbourhood of (2n+1)π2. Hence, function has infinite point of inflection.
f(x)=x|x|={x2,x<0x2,x0
or f′′(x)={2,x<02,x>0
Here, f′′(x) changes sign in the neighbourhood of x=0. Hence, has point of inflection.
