Cellulose occur in the cell wall of plants and in certain animal tissues. Itts main source is cotton and wood. It is a non-reducing carbohydrate. It has a very high molecular weight. Cellulose is formed only by the $β -$ D-glucose units. These glucose units are linked by $C_{1} - C_{4}$ glycosidic linkage to form the cellulose structure.
