Solution

The correct option is C
From Coulomb's law,

Fe=kq1q2r2

So, we can say that electrostatic force between two charges is an inverse square function.

i.e. Fe1r2

Fe=constantr2

If r2 Fe
and when, r0, Fe

For a given pair of charge at certain separation,

Fer2=kq1q2=constant

This resembles xy=constant

So, graph of Fe vs r2 will be rectangular hyperbola.

Hence, option (c) is correct.

Why this question ?Tip: In graph of Fe vs r or Fe vs r2r=0 and r= are the asymptotes for the hyperbola.
