The correct option is A Size of resulting cells decreases
During the cleavage, the cellular division takes place in the zygote. There is no synthesis of new protoplasm and as a zygote is covered with zona pellucida there is no chance of an increase in the size of the zygote.
So during cleavage, the cells divide rapidly and continue to increase in number but the mass of protoplasm remains the same and the resultant cells decrease in size.
