Solution

The correct option is A LH - posterior pituitary - ovulation

Gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) is secreted by the hypothalamus, and it stimulates the anterior pituitary gland to secrete gonadotropins, FSH and LH.

Follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) is secreted by the anterior pituitary and it stimulates growth and development of follicles inside the ovary.

Luteinizing hormone (LH) is secreted by the anterior pituitary, not posterior pituitary, and it induces ovulation in females. Ovulation is release of the secondary oocyte from the mature graafian follicle.

Progesterone is secreted by the corpus luteum and it helps in the maintenance of endometrium. Endometrium is the innermost layer of the wall of the uterus. It is the site of implantation.
