Cellulose is a structural polysaccharide formed of long chain of β - glucose units (6000 - 10000). They are straight, unbranched and linear. Adjacent glucose molecules are joined by β 1 4 linkage. Pectin is a mucopolysaccharide found in cell wall. It is made up of galactose, galacturonic acid and arabinose. Lignin is a heterogeneous phenyl propane polymer formed by condensation of coumaryl, coniferyl and sinapyl alcohol.
